Description
The Scientist will join our Pharmaceutical Development group. The Scientist will be primarily working on semi-solid dosage formulations, and the corresponding characterization works including HPLC, viscometer and other wet chemistry techniques. Candidate should be comfortable multitasking across projects and disciplines. Formulation compounding and process development including material handling/weighing, heating, mixing, filling, sealing, packaging and sample shipment, etc. Sample preparation and performs physicochemical characterizations, including pH, viscosity, microscopic imaging, rheological measurement, in vitro drug elections, HPLC, etc. Laboratory notebook GXP documentation and data summary. Follow instructions and execute studies according to DOE. Familiar and follow lab safety rules/SOPs
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Provide pre-formulation support and formulation compounding
- Support development of semi-solid dosage formulations
- Conduct physicochemical characterization including pH, viscosity, microscopy, rheology, and HPLC
- Perform sample preparation, testing, and data analysis
- Maintain GxP laboratory documentation and data summaries
- Follow study protocols, DOE guidance, and laboratory safety procedures
Requirements
- Minimum BS (advanced degrees preferred) in Chemistry/Biochemistry or other relevant scientific fields.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in any or all of the following:
- Formulation compounding process
- Drug formulation/drug delivery
- Analytical chemistry including HPLC, pH, viscosity measurement
- Fluent user of Microsoft Office package Understands and utilizes microscope and viscometer
- Understands and creates GXP documentation

Pay: $39.00 - $48.00 per hour
