Job Title: Agronomy Truck Driver / Custom Applicator
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Agronomy Truck Driver / Custom Applicator to join our agronomy team. This position is responsible for transporting and applying crop inputs such as fertilizer, seed, and crop protection products in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in precision, and is committed to customer service and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain agronomy application equipment, including tender trucks, spreaders, sprayers, and related machinery
- Transport, load, and unload fertilizer, seed, and crop protection products safely and efficiently
- Apply products accurately according to field maps, prescriptions, and company standards
- Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and DOT requirements
- Perform routine equipment inspections, maintenance, and cleaning
- Keep accurate application, delivery, and inventory records
- Communicate effectively with agronomy staff, supervisors, and customers
- Assist with warehouse, plant, or seasonal agronomy tasks as needed
- Support peak-season operations, including extended hours during planting and application seasons
Qualifications
- Valid CDL (or ability to obtain) with a clean driving record
- Applicator license (or willingness to obtain within required timeframe)
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying outdoor conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in agronomy, farming, or custom application
- Knowledge of GPS, variable-rate technology, or precision ag systems
- Familiarity with fertilizer and crop protection products
Work Environment & Schedule
- Seasonal peaks with long hours during spring and fall
- Outdoor work in various weather conditions
- On-call or weekend work may be required during busy seasons
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $57,500.00 - $65,000.00 per year
