Job Title- Logistics - Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Location- Lenexa, KS
Duration- 5 Months
Shift/Time Zone: 8:00AM-4:30PM CST
Basic Purpose
Responsible for the accurate and efficient shipping, receiving, routing, storage, and documentation of materials entering and leaving the Business Unit (BU). Performs data entry, inventory support, order fulfillment, and related materials management activities while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, verify, process, and route incoming materials to the facility and designated remote/off-site locations.
- Enter received materials and related information into the Materials Management software system accurately and promptly.
- Review shipping documentation and report any discrepancies or shortages to the Warehouse Manager.
- Prepare and process outbound shipments, including all required shipping documentation.
- Manage returned materials and products in accordance with established Returned Goods Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Deliver stock and materials to designated staging areas and departments.
- Organize and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Rotate inventory based on receipt and expiration dates to ensure proper stock rotation and minimize product expiration.
- Identify and report short-dated materials with less than 30 days of shelf life to the Warehouse Manager for appropriate action.
- Assist with cycle counts and full physical inventory activities.
- Assist with order entry, picking, packing, and delivery of internal and external orders as needed.
- Support record storage and retrieval activities as required.
- Assist with the preparation, receipt, sorting, and distribution of internal, inbound, and external mail.
- Follow all applicable Materials and Services Management, Human Resources, Employee Health and Safety, Compliance, OSHA, CLIA, and other company policies and procedures.
- Review existing processes and provide recommendations for improvements to the Warehouse Manager.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to shipping, receiving, inventory, and materials management.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Required Experience
- Minimum of six (6) months of previous materials management, warehouse, shipping, receiving, or related experience.
- Previous data entry experience preferred.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong record-keeping and attention to detail.
- Ability to operate computers, printers, and barcode scanners.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, or equivalent software.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to operate materials-handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, as required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to accuracy, safety, compliance, and proper inventory management.
