Production Supervisor

Job Title: Production Supervisor
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Shift: 6 AM to 6:30 PM 

Position Overview
TalentBridge is partnering with a manufacturing organization in the food and beverage industry to identify a Production Supervisor to support frontline manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment.
This role is responsible for leading hourly production associates, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Supervisor will play a key role in supporting production goals while fostering a positive and accountable team environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Employee Management

• Lead, manage, and mobilize hourly associates to achieve Safety, Quality, and Productivity goals.
• Drive accountability through consistent leadership and clearly communicated expectations.
• Promote a positive team environment and encourage employee involvement.
• Conduct formal and informal employee evaluations and provide performance feedback.
• Address employee concerns and escalate issues to leadership when necessary.
• Administer corrective action related to attendance, performance, or policy violations.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings to discuss:
  • Prior shift performance
  • Safety updates
  • Production priorities
  • Operational metrics
  • Plant communications

• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and support teams to meet production requirements.
• Review manufacturing and shipping schedules to identify risks, gaps, and staffing or production needs.
• Coordinate workload balancing with peers and leadership.
• Ensure departmental operational performance aligns with plant objectives.
• Respond effectively to equipment or operational disruptions.

• Ensure compliance with plant and regulatory standards, including:
  • GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Quality and Safety Standards
  • FDA Requirements
  • ISO Standards
  • Plant Policies and Procedures
• Ensure adherence to:
  • SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Quality Assurance Requirements
  • Plant Rules
  • Non-conformance procedures
• Maintain current SOPs and provide job-specific training as needed.

• Validate employee attendance and timekeeping records through daily and weekly reviews.
• Utilize payroll/timekeeping systems for employee timecard verification.
• Ensure departmental compliance with company policies and procedures.

• Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing and operational improvement efforts, including:
  • 5S
  • Daily Management Systems (DMS)
  • Autonomous and Preventive Maintenance initiatives
• Conduct root cause analysis for operational and safety incidents using tools such as:
  • 5-Why Analysis
  • Fishbone Diagram
• Implement corrective actions to improve departmental performance and operational efficiency.
• Foster employee participation in continuous improvement efforts.

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Preferred degrees include:
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering

• 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment
• Previous supervisory experience within a food or beverage manufacturing environment preferred

• Experience with continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with:
  • CIP (Clean-in-Place)
  • HACCP
  • AIB (preferred)
• Strong leadership, planning, communication, and conflict management skills
• Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Resourceful with strong decision-making ability
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently
• Flexibility to support weekends and night shifts as required
