Position Title: International Logistics Manager
Job Location: Grand Rapids, MI - Onsite
The Traffic Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day freight and logistics operations, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring high performance across supply chain activities. This role focuses on global ocean shipments, domestic drayage, and strategic project execution to optimize processes and costs.
Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage Asia Pacific supply chain delivery, including freight routing, container management, expedites, and consolidated shipments.
Oversee global ocean shipment processes and domestic drayage, acting as the lead to ensure continuous freight movement.
Coach teams on execution toward KPIs and hold business partners accountable for performance.
Maintain tactical relationships with global logistics partners.
Contribute to departmental strategy planning and ensure execution across the organization.
Define, plan, and execute mid-size projects to improve current operations and support future growth, including evaluating and rebidding freight routes and managing carrier partnerships.
Conduct freight analysis, monitor carrier metrics, and establish budgeting guidelines.
Lead and support annual bid processes for ocean and drayage, including obtaining rate quotes, analyzing bids, and providing recommendations.
Develop and maintain reporting for rate impact analysis, root cause analysis, and performance tracking.
Evaluate performance against organizational KPIs, including budget adherence and on-time performance, and implement strategies to improve results.
Drive continuous improvement across all areas of responsibility.
Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external customers to resolve supply chain issues.
Support strategic sourcing team with special projects and assignments.
Develop processes, lead teams, and foster a highly motivated work environment to enhance organizational effectiveness.
Coach and develop employees, provide feedback, recognize performance, and address issues decisively.
Oversee trade compliance and manage associates as necessary.
Assist with selecting and managing fleet drivers and equipment.
Publish and present logistics performance metrics.

Work Experience: Minimum 5 years in supply chain or logistics in a manufacturing environment, including managing business partners and contracts; 3 years working with Asia Pacific supply chain and culture; international trade experience; leadership or supervisory experience.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Sourcing, or related field.
Computer Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and Transportation Management Systems.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently with attention to detail.
Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication with internal teams and external suppliers; strong interpersonal skills.
