- Job Details
- Registered Nurse performs under direct supervision of Patient Care Coordinator to achieve quality patient care.
- Implements nursing process including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in collaboration with Patient Care Coordinator, Physicians, and ancillary staff.
- Responsible to Patient Care Coordinator for patient care and accountable to Nurse Manager.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care and assess/intervene when patient condition worsens.
- Performs technical skills including medication administration, IV access, blood product administration, restraint application, sterile dressing, and complex/routine treatments.
- Works with and troubleshoots equipment such as traction, wound vacuum systems, sequential compression devices, continuous passive motion machines, telemetry monitoring devices, blood glucose monitors, and specialty beds.
- Positions and assists patients using devices like abduction pillows, splints, slings, braces, neck collars, walkers, crutches, and immobilizers.
- Maintains thorough, concise, and timely documentation and communicates pertinent patient information to healthcare team.
- Maintains clinical skills, ongoing competencies, equipment, and certifications required in nursing area.
- Implements comprehensive care plans for patients needing cardiac monitoring, stroke care, and medical-surgical care.
- Communicates effectively and adheres to organizational values including customer service, safety, and compliance.
- Promotes culture of caring through compassionate care, teamwork, and courtesy.
- Demonstrates financial responsibility by efficient supply use, timely patient discharge, and minimizing overtime.
- Job Requirements
- Two years experience as Med Surg Tele RN required.
- Schedule Information
- Shift: 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM.
- Work 36 hours/48 hour schedule or all 48 hour work weeks.
- Every other weekend required.
- Orientation on Tuesdays.
- No PTO during assignment.
- Short term assignments ASAP start date.
- Needs are 8 weeks but facility may only need 6 weeks.
- Two week notice provided for end of assignment.
- Unit Specific Information
- Med Surg Telemetry unit experience required.
- Role supports Emergency Department by holding patients but no ER patient assignments.
- May float to any Med Surg/Tele unit to maintain coverage and prevent bed closures.
- Additional Details
- Nurses may be floated to any Med Surg/Tele unit as needed to maintain coverage and prevent bed closures.
- These RNs will not be assigned ER patients.
- EMR: Epic experience required.
- Time Keeping: Kronos.
- Scrubs: Galaxy Blue.
- No scheduling restrictions.
- Employees must maintain professional appearance including natural or neutral hair colors.
