Shipping Clerk

Job Title: Shipping Clerk – Sheet Metal Fabrication

Location: Wyoming, MI

Pay: $19-22/hr

Schedule: 1st Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to support shipping and logistics operations in a sheet metal fabrication environment. This role is responsible for preparing orders, coordinating shipments, and ensuring accurate, on-time delivery of fabricated metal products.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, and ship sheet metal parts and assemblies according to customer requirements
• Verify shipments against packing lists, bills of lading, and work orders
• Generate shipping documents and labels using shipping software and ERP systems
• Coordinate freight pickups with carriers and internal teams
• Load and unload materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or overhead cranes as required
• Inspect outgoing products for damage and proper packaging
• Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation
• Assist with inventory transactions and staging of finished goods
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized shipping area
• Support other warehouse and shop activities as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous shipping or warehouse experience preferred
• Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment a plus
• Ability to read packing lists, bills of lading, and work orders
• Forklift experience preferred (certification a plus)
• Basic computer and data entry skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
