Materials Supervisor
Reporting to the Material Handling Superintendent, the Materials Supervisor oversees inventory accuracy, material flow, and production support to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This role leads Material Handlers and Hi-Lo operators, ensuring materials are properly staged, inventory records are accurate, and production requirements are met. The position also provides backup support for shipping and receiving as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and reconcile inventory in SAP, ensuring accuracy and minimizing variances.
- Oversee material staging and flow to support production schedules.
- Conduct cycle counts and audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Drive process improvements, 5S compliance, and adherence to Standard Work.
- Supervise, coach, and develop Material Handlers and Hi-Lo operators, ensuring training and certifications are current.
- Manage timekeeping, attendance, performance evaluations, and corrective actions using Dayforce.
- Promote and enforce safety policies and safe work practices.
- Coordinate with production and communicate inventory or production-impacting issues.
- Provide backup support for shipping and receiving, including shipment verification and ASN processing.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5 years of supervisory experience in inventory or warehouse operations within a manufacturing environment (automotive/JIT preferred).
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of material flow, inventory control, and production support.
- Experience with Ford systems (CMMS3, EDDL) a plus.
- Forklift experience and valid certification preferred.
