Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team in a scientific and clinical capacity. This role involves understanding and translating business processes into high-level concepts for user training and IT development teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in R&D management and experience in scientific disciplines.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Part of a Digital Innovation Data and Analytics Section of about 10 and a Department of about 50.
• Using previous understanding of R&D, partner with a “Data champions team” of B3 leads and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to help define the corporate needs and the similarities/differences in the requests.
• Partner with IT organization in delivering ~6 new data stream sources through defining the high-level business need and translating into detailed user requirements.
• Provide advisory-level support and technical guidance to 3 FTE members responsible for data quality and help in the prioritization of current business data stream enhancements.
• Create and share “success stories” (1/month) training related to the “data space” across R&D, and support the design of DI’s personal data map.

Qualifications:

• Experience with an interest in Data.
• Previous R&D management-track experience.
• Ability to piece together our whole technical story from lots of small pieces.
• Collaborate efficiently with lots of different people.
• Interest and ability in data (data handling and manipulation).
• Spreadsheets – ideally at least uses IF function in Excel.
• Experience in JMP – used for statistical analysis.
• Focus on data warehousing/Data Lake.
• At least a BS degree required.
• High success factor for relevant industry experience.
• Industry: R&D with relation to IT (also okay for manufacturing or commercial background).
• Ideal years of experience: about 10 or more.

Preferred:

• Ability to translate high-level business needs into more specific requirements for IT teams to develop against, in partnership with a Business Analyst.
• Core to role is to create new Data streams for R&D (the team creates 10-15 new sources of data per year, with about 6 new sources of data during the time of the role).
