About the Role
We are seeking a Revenue Accountant to support revenue recognition, financial reporting, reimbursement analysis, and compliance activities across multiple funding sources. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys solving complex financial challenges, improving processes, and ensuring financial accuracy within a healthcare, nonprofit, or human services environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage monthly revenue recognition and reconciliation activities.
- Analyze revenue from Medicaid, Medicare, grants, insurance, contracts, and other funding sources.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close schedules.
- Reconcile billing systems to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.
- Monitor deferred revenue, accruals, contractual adjustments, and allowances.
- Prepare regulatory, grant, and funder reporting submissions.
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and financial reporting requirements.
- Monitor accounts receivable activity, denials, cash collections, and aging trends.
- Partner with operational and revenue cycle teams to resolve reporting and reimbursement issues.
- Assist with process improvements, internal controls, and workflow optimization.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and board reporting activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong experience with revenue recognition, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, grants, insurance reimbursement, or similar funding environments.
- Experience preparing regulatory, funder, or reimbursement reporting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition standards.
- Advanced Excel and financial systems experience.
- Experience supporting audits and compliance reviews.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation.
- Experience within behavioral health, healthcare, nonprofit, or human services organizations.
- Experience with EHR platforms or healthcare billing systems.
- Experience supporting single audits or cost reporting.
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
