Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership

Develop and implement departmental goals, standards, and operational plans aligned with clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements.

Lead initiatives that support organizational mission and performance metrics.
Operational Oversight
-
Oversee Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, NICU, and Pediatric services.
-
Ensure excellence in clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.
Staff Development & Management
-
Lead hiring, onboarding, evaluation, disciplinary actions, and professional development.
-
Cultivate a positive, growth-oriented team culture.
-
Mentor and support nurse leaders and clinical staff.
Financial & Resource Management
-
Develop and manage departmental budgets.
-
Monitor expenditures, ensure cost-effectiveness, and oversee audit readiness.
Quality & Safety
-
Promote evidence-based care and compliance with standards set by HIPAA, Joint Commission, and other regulatory bodies.

Drive continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
-
Partner with medical staff, anesthesia providers, and administrative leadership to enhance care delivery and service integration.

Strengthen coordination across units for maternal, infant, and pediatric populations.
Additional Duties

Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Complete other tasks as assigned.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
-
Current West Virginia RN license or eligibility for licensure
-
5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in Women’s and Children’s Health
-
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia providers
-
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (or ability to obtain within specified timeframe)

Demonstrate strategic thinking and operational excellence

Build a cohesive and accountable clinical team

Sustain high standards in patient safety and quality care

Drive measurable improvement in department performance
