Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to lead and oversee nursing staff and patient care services across all sites of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in an ambulatory care setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and oversee nursing staff to ensure effective patient care delivery.
- Evaluate patient care and ensure customer satisfaction is maintained at all times.
- Oversee daily nurse staffing requirements for all organizational sites.
- Orient clinical staff to their job responsibilities and provide ongoing support.
- Provide leadership in clinical problem solving and decision-making.
- Assist with nurse recruitment and participate in the hiring process.
- Develop and implement orientation plans for new nursing staff members, providing timely feedback.
- Evaluate and schedule in-services and training sessions as needed; serve as liaison with healthcare providers.
- Ensure nursing activities, policies, and records comply with licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain clinical skills and knowledge necessary to set standards and work effectively in the ambulatory care setting.
- Assist with patient examinations and address patient questions when necessary.
- Implement, interpret, and assist in developing organizational policies, procedures, nursing standards, and regulations.
- Monitor tracking and recall systems within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Oversee clinical programs including BCCSP, Family Planning, VFC, and other related initiatives.
- Manage all immunization requirements and documentation processes.
- Represent the organization at community functions to increase awareness of Camden on Gauley Medical Center Health’s programs and services, as requested.
- Oversee planning and scheduling of nursing staff to ensure adequate coverage.
- Prepare paperwork related to payroll and employee leave or assist as needed.
- Cover nursing schedules during shortages when no other options are available.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a strong background in nursing leadership, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with clinical staff and administration.
