Overview
The Vice President, IT Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s technology infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations, and driving innovation to align IT strategies with business goals. This role plays a pivotal part in building resilient, scalable systems, maintaining cybersecurity, and fostering a high-performance IT culture.
Hybrid - 4 days in office.
Responsibilities
Strategy
- Develop and execute the IT operations strategy to align with our client’s overall business goals and objectives
Infrastructure
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our client’s IT infrastructure, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability
- Optimize the use of cloud computing to achieve operational excellence
Platforms
- Administer Office 365 tenant, including user provisioning, license management, and service configurations
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Office 365 services and applications
- Configure, monitor, and manage Commvault backup and recovery solutions
- Develop and implement data protection strategies and disaster recovery plans
- Ensure data integrity, perform regular backups, and manage restoration processes
- Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for Exchange, SharePoint, Office 365, Azure, and Commvault
- Administer and support Microsoft Exchange environments, including Exchange Online and on-premises Exchange Server
- Manage mail flow, user accounts, permissions, and troubleshoot mail-related issues
- Deploy, configure, maintain, and secure SharePoint Online
- Develop and manage SharePoint sites, libraries, and workflows to enhance team collaboration
Technology Operations
- Ensure systems uptime, disaster recovery capabilities, and business continuity through proactive monitoring and response
- Oversee IT service delivery to meet organizational and end-user needs with a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction
- Design and improve ITSM documentation and processes for effectively managing all technology standards
People Management
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing IT team
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation
- Drive initiatives for workforce development, succession planning, and employee engagement
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to understand business needs, identify technology solutions, and ensure IT delivers measurable value
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience
- 10 years of progressive experience in IT operations, including 5 years in senior leadership roles
- 80% focus on leadership and strategy
- Proven expertise in managing complex IT infrastructures, including:
- Cloud platforms
- Enterprise systems
- Cybersecurity programs
- Demonstrated success in aligning IT strategies with organizational goals and driving business transformation through technology
- 5–8 years of experience managing Windows environments
- Experience with:
- Power Automate
- Microsoft 365 (M365) Platform
- Certifications:
- AZ-900: Azure Fundamentals
- AZ-305: Azure Architect Design
- Hands-on experience with:
- Windows
- macOS
- iOS
- Android
- 3 years in technical support/help desk environments
- Familiarity with:
- IT Service Management (ITSM)
- DevOps
- Agile methodologies (a plus)
- 3 years of experience with Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft 365
- 2 years of advanced backend IT infrastructure and Azure experience

Pay range and compensation package
The salary range for this position is between $175,000 - $235,000.
This role will receive competitive salary, benefits, and variable compensation. Compensation is determined by various factors, including experience, location, and performance. In addition, the position includes access to medical, dental, vision, and other benefits, including flexible paid time off.
