What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President Operations position at JWB Hospitality?
Vice President of Operations — Hospitality (Confidential)
Location: New York City
A rapidly growing hospitality company is seeking a Vice President of Operations to join its leadership team at a pivotal stage of expansion. Led by founders with a strong track record of building and scaling high-performing concepts, the company is developing a multi-faceted platform focused on operating restaurants within hotel environments, alongside additional complementary revenue streams.
With ambitious growth plans already underway, this is a rare opportunity to step in at the ground level and help define the systems, structure, and operational strategy of a business poised for significant scale. The role includes a meaningful profit-sharing component, reflecting its importance as a true partner in the company’s success.
The Opportunity
This organization is not approaching growth in a traditional way. It is building a platform designed for replication, efficiency, and strong unit-level economics—requiring an operator who understands how to scale concepts without losing control of quality or guest experience.
The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of expanding fast-casual or QSR brands, with the ability to translate that experience into a more complex hospitality environment that includes hotel-based operations and multiple revenue channels.
The Role
The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing the teams, systems, and SOPs that drive performance across the business. This leader will take ownership of the operational playbook, ensuring it supports both speed of growth and consistency of execution.
There are two core areas of responsibility:
1. Corporate Operations
Creating the infrastructure that enables the company to underwrite, launch, and scale new opportunities. This includes building processes that connect development, operations, and revenue optimization into a cohesive system.
2. Field & Hotel-Based Restaurant Operations
Driving execution within individual locations while creating consistency across markets. This includes:
- Building and structuring strong on-site leadership teams
- Designing scalable labor models aligned with volume and demand
- Implementing systems for procurement, logistics, and inventory control
- Establishing clear HR frameworks, including payroll, performance management, and growth pathways
- Optimizing guest capture, throughput, and revenue generation
Success in this role requires someone who can think in systems—understanding how decisions at the unit level impact performance at scale, and how to build tools that work across a growing portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and optimize P&L performance across a multi-unit, multi-concept portfolio
- Build scalable SOPs, systems, and infrastructure to support accelerated growth
- Lead operational execution for new openings, ensuring speed, consistency, and financial performance
- Drive labor efficiency, cost controls, and margin improvement through disciplined operational design
- Partner with founders on growth strategy, market expansion, and concept evolution
- Develop and mentor high-performing leaders across multiple locations and markets
- Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to track performance and enable real-time decision-making
- Continuously refine processes to improve efficiency without compromising guest experience
Who You Are
- A proven operator with significant experience scaling fast-casual or QSR brands across multiple units or markets
- Experienced in building systems that enable rapid, repeatable growth
- Financially rigorous, with a deep understanding of labor models, cost structures, and unit economics
- Both strategic and hands-on—you can build the playbook and step in to execute it
- Comfortable operating in complexity, ideally with exposure to hotel F&B or non-traditional restaurant environments
- A strong leader and coach who builds teams that can scale with the business
- Motivated by ownership, accountability, and the opportunity to build something enduring
Why This Role
This is a build-and-scale opportunity with real influence. You’ll work directly with founders who have done this before—and are positioned to do it again at a larger scale. With significant expansion ahead, the right candidate will help define how the company grows, operates, and wins in the market.
