Available Shifts
Maintenance Technician 2, 1st Shift
7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Maintenance Technician 1, C1 Shift
6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Thursday through Sunday
Training on 1st shift M-F 6a-2:30pm (3-6 months)
Position Summary
As a Maintenance Technician in Charlotte, NC, you support manufacturing operations by performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing equipment issues, and repairing facility and production equipment. You work independently and alongside engineering and maintenance teams to reduce downtime and improve system performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment, including lubrication and replacement of belts and filters on fans, pumps, motors, and related systems
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production machinery and facility equipment
- Install, maintain, and repair piping systems, including copper, black iron, and PVC
- Identify equipment issues, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions
- Support new equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvements
- Conduct routine inspections to prevent unplanned downtime
- Install metal and non-metal piping using threaded, soldered, brazed, or cemented joints
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer manuals
- Maintain a safe, organized work area and follow all safety policies
Education, Experience, and Skills
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Maintenance Technician 2, minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Maintenance Technician 1, entry-level to intermediate maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude, including gears, bearings, alignment, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Ability to work from ladders and elevated areas
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds repeatedly during the work shift
Preferred
- Two-year technical degree or equivalent training
- Experience with facility equipment such as cooling towers, chillers, air handlers, and electrical systems
- HVAC maintenance experience
- Basic electrical skills, including motor controls and electrical distribution
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Regular exposure to a manufacturing and industrial environment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift for extended periods
