Mainframe Developer

This is a W2 requirement, need independent candidates only.

We are looking for a skilled Mainframe Support Engineer to support and maintain our critical z/OS environment. In this role, you will handle daily batch operations, monitor system performance, troubleshoot production issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and reliable processing across CICS, DB2, and batch workloads.

Responsibilities:

• 3 years of mainframe support experience
• Strong skills in JCL, TSO/ISPF, REXX/CLIST, COBOL, DB2, and CICS fundamentals
• Experience with SDSF and Git
• Monitor and manage daily batch schedules (Control-M) and resolve failures
• Troubleshoot production incidents across z/OS, CICS, DB2
• Use SDSF and related tools for diagnostics, performance, and capacity monitoring
• Execute JCL, manage datasets/tapes, and support OS/subsystem maintenance
• Conduct root-cause analysis and drive incident reduction
• Ensure compliance with security, audit, and ITIL processes
• Experience with DevOps/automation on z/OS (e.g., Ansible)
• Exposure to MQ, Java on z/OS, or modernization initiatives
