Bilingual Legal/Employee Relations Specialist
We are seeking aBilingual Legal/Employee Relations Specialistto join our clients growing team! Seeking a candidate who is bilingual in Spanish to support their team members on the field by advocating for workplace rights, assisting with compliance issues, and building relationships within the construction community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a frontline representative for union members in matters related to working conditions, employer compliance, and prevailing wage disputes.
- Conduct site visits to construction projects (23 times per week) to monitor conditions, meet with workers, and collect information.
- Assist members in filing and resolving workplace complaints, ensuring contractors abide by labor laws and union agreements.
- Manage administrative tasks including data entry, document requests, certified payroll requests, and reporting.
- Input complaints and job site notes into CRM and prepare weekly Excel updates for leadership.
- Conduct and submit state-required prevailing wage surveys and assist with reporting for federally funded projects.
- Attend and support regular chapter meetings (approx. 2 per month, plus semiannual Saturday sessions).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with workers on-site to ensure open communication and trust.
Must-Haves:
- 4 years of legal/human resources/compliance experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; confident speaking with workers on-site.
- Strong attention to detail, punctuality, and organizational skills.
- Valid Drivers License with a clean driving record - traveling to 2-3 work sites a week.
