Operations Manager

Job Title: Operations Manager – Electrical ConstructionPay Range: $120,000–$160,000 annually (base salary, DOE)Employment Type: Full-TimePosition SummaryThe Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day and strategic operations of the electrical construction division. This role ensures profitable project execution, operational efficiency, quality control, and strong client relationships while managing and developing project management and field leadership teams. Prior experience working for an electrical contractor is required.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and manage operational performance across multiple electrical construction projectsDrive division profitability through effective planning, execution, and resource managementLead, mentor, and develop project managers, superintendents, and operational staffSupport continuous improvement initiatives, including lessons learned and process optimizationParticipate in hiring, work assignments, promotions, and performance evaluationsReview and oversee contractual requirements, schedules, and budgets for all projectsEnsure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and company policiesDevelop and manage operational plans, staffing strategies, and capacity planningAdjust operational priorities based on customer needs, labor availability, and jobsite conditionsMaintain strong client relationships and serve as an escalation point for project-related issuesOversee coordination with subcontractors and third-party construction firmsLead operational reviews with emphasis on financial forecasting, cost control, and risk mitigationProactively communicate operational challenges, risks, and successes to executive leadershipCoordinate with accounting on billing, invoicing, cost tracking, and change order managementWork with legal counsel as needed to support contract negotiations and dispute resolutionBalance internal and external resources to meet project and business objectivesQualifications10 years of experience with an electrical contractor, including senior-level operational or project leadershipStrong understanding of electrical construction operations, workflows, and best practicesSolid knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and power systemsField experience coordinating with construction management and jobsite leadershipExtensive experience with scheduling, estimating, bids, take-offs, change orders, and contractsProven ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and improve operational performanceStrong client-facing and relationship-building skillsExceptional analytical, organizational, and leadership abilitiesBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferredJourneyman or Master Electrician license is a plusCompensation & BenefitsThe base salary range for this position is $120,000–$160,000, depending on experience, location, and business needs.
