Construction Safety Coordinator

We are actively recruiting a Safety Coordinator to support a well-established construction contractor based in Mt. Airy, MD. This individual will play a key role in promoting and enforcing a culture of safety across all jobsites, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, and providing support to both field and office teams.This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about workplace safety and looking to grow their career with a company that values proactive, hands-on safety leadership.Key Responsibilities:Support the planning, implementation, and enforcement of company safety policiesConduct jobsite safety inspections and follow up on corrective actionsLead toolbox talks, training sessions, and safety orientationsAdvise field teams on hazard mitigation and safe work practicesAssist with incident investigations, reporting, and recordkeepingCollaborate with HR to maintain training records, certifications, and OSHA logsServe as a resource for field personnel on safety needs and complianceHelp coordinate Safety Committee meetings and initiativesTravel regularly to job sites using a company-provided vehicleQualifications:Minimum 2 years of experience in construction, preferably in a safety-related roleWorking knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety practicesStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to lead, mentor, and influence field and management teamsProficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and stay organized in a fast-paced environmentWorking Conditions:Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditionsWill be exposed to typical construction site environments including heights, confined spaces, and energized equipmentFrequent travel to active job sites with potential extended periods of drivingAbility to access and inspect various levels of a construction site, including areas only accessible via ladders or stairsThis is a full-time opportunity with competitive compensation, benefits, and a company vehicle for jobsite travel.If you are a safety-minded professional ready to make an impact, we want to hear from you.
