Project Manager – Large-Scale Construction
San Jose, CA
We are partnering with a well-established general contractor to hire an experienced Project Manager for large-scale construction projects in the San Jose area. This role is ideal for a driven professional with experience managing complex builds valued at $50M who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to project teams, fostering a positive and high-performing work environment
- Manage projects using established controls, processes, and procedures
- Lead constructability reviews and coordination efforts across all project phases
- Communicate effectively with owners, construction managers, architects, and subcontractors regarding risk, budgets, schedules, and change management
- Oversee preconstruction efforts including planning, scheduling, estimating, and cost control
- Prepare and present monthly project reports (cost, schedule, safety, and cash flow)
- Drive jobsite safety and quality standards in partnership with field leadership
- Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and protect project profitability
- Partner with accounting teams on billing, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Attend and lead jobsite coordination meetings
- Collaborate with field teams on material procurement, equipment planning, and labor projections
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 3–5 years of Project Management experience on projects valued at $50M
- Experience working for a general contractor on large commercial or mission-critical projects
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Preferred Experience
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
- Strong background in estimating and preconstruction
- Experience coordinating trades and administering subcontracts
- Experience working in a self-performing environment
- Union experience is a plus
- Drywall experience highly preferred
