About the Role
The individual will use business data and statistical methods to provide insight to business performance to manage plans for low-cost shipping of inventory out of manufacturers and forward stations. In addition, the individual will identify areas of improvement and establish adjustments to existing procedures and practices to ensure business goals are met.
Responsibilities
- Leverage a deep understanding of our client's supply chain to monitor distribution networks and optimize order sourcing based on shipping and receiving capacity, transportation mode costs, and facility expenses.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with manufacturers and forward facilities.
- Oversee facility management, including creating an annual budget (over $25MM), monthly performance reviews, invoice processing, demurrage management (spending $1.75MM annually), inventory projections, reconciliation, and monitoring throughput against expectations.
- Manage warehouse storage projections and collaborate with operations and supply planning teams to secure appropriate and well-located storage space.
- Work effectively within cross-functional teams to develop distribution strategies, partnering with Supply and Operations Planning on storage strategies, Transportation on carrier availability and pricing, Sales on customer forecasts and market trends, and Factories on production, quality, and shipping needs.
- Apply strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to identify inefficiencies and implement solutions.
- Create and track reports to measure performance against projections, continuously refining processes to adopt best practices.
- Proactively manage sourcing opportunities, address suboptimal shipping, and collaborate with analysts to make necessary adjustments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in operations, supply chain, accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 10 Years in a Distribution Department with at least 5 years leading a team
- Microsoft Office Suite experience required
- SAP user experience required

- Prior experience leading a Distribution Function for a fast paced, food-oriented industry
