Electrical & Generator Contractor
LOCATION Southeastern MA / Rhode Island, on site
COMPENSATION$150,000 to $220,000 for fully loaded compensation
The Opportunity
A well established, award winning electrical contractor in Southern New England is hiring a General Manager. The business runs three divisions: commercial and industrial construction, electrical service, and generator sales, installation, and planned maintenance. It has a strong reputation, a loyal customer base, and a solid recurring service book.
This is the top operating seat in the company. The President is looking for a leader who can own the business day to day, build a leadership team that runs without everything flowing through one person, and position the company for its next chapter. Real authority, real accountability.
What You Will Own
- Full P&L responsibility across construction, service, and generator divisions
- Leading and developing the division managers and building a strong second layer of leadership
- Setting operating goals, budgets, and KPIs, and holding the team to them
- Financial visibility: job costing, WIP, forecasting, and clean monthly reporting with the finance team
- Documenting how the business runs so knowledge lives in systems, not in people
- Growing the recurring service and generator maintenance base
- Owning key customer, GC, and vendor relationships
- Protecting and building on a strong safety record
What You Bring
- 10 years in electrical, mechanical, or specialty contracting, with 5 as a GM, VP Operations, or division leader
- Experience running a multi division business, ideally construction plus service
- Strong financial fluency: P&L ownership, WIP, job costing, and margin management
- A track record of building structure, process, and leadership teams
- Generator, power systems, or service contract experience is a strong plus
- Master or Journeyman electrician license is a plus, not a requirement
