Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain workflow orchestration solutions using Python and modern orchestration frameworks
- Build reliable, scalable, and observable data and application workflows supporting critical business operations
- Integrate cloud data platforms, internal applications, and third-party services through APIs and distributed systems
- Develop and support deployment pipelines, release processes, and environment management across development, testing, and production
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational visibility for production workloads
- Design retry strategies, recovery mechanisms, and fault-tolerant processes for workflow execution
- Support secure application configuration, authentication, access controls, and secrets management
- Partner closely with data, application, and cloud engineering teams to deliver end-to-end platform capabilities
- Create operational documentation, deployment guides, and support runbooks
- Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to platform reliability, performance, and engineering best practices
- 7 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or backend application development
- Strong commercial experience building applications and services in Python
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting production workflow orchestration platforms
- Hands-on experience with Prefect or similar workflow orchestration technologies
- Experience deploying and operating cloud-native applications within AWS environments
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or comparable technologies
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
- Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, observability, and production support practices
- Experience integrating systems through APIs, distributed services, and data pipelines
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform is highly preferred
- Strong software engineering fundamentals including testing, version control, and code review practices
- Up to $90/hour
- 3-month contract with strong possibility of extension
- Role can be performed remotely from within the United States

- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, dbt, event-driven architectures, or modern cloud data platforms is considered a plus
