Director of Engineering and Product - Media/News

Our client is one of the most well-known and prestigious News and Media organizations in the world. This organization embodies it’s mission of distributing 100% accurate, unbiased, and credible news, and through its B2C and B2B channels, reaches majority of the world’s population on any given day. They are seeking a Director of Engineering & Product to lead their tech org and accelerate their performance.

Job Title: Director of Engineering and Product

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Hybrid - 3 days on-site in Washington DC

Required Technology And Skills

• 12 years professional experience, background as a hands-on SWE before transitioning to leadership
• Experience working cross-functionally with distributed, global teams and driving towards a consistent vision
• Experience operating an AWS environment at scale, and working with AWS services commonly used in live data ingestion and streaming (Lambda, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc)
• Experience working in high-traffic environment with time-bound events, and managing automaton, load, stress testing, etc.
• Well-versed in AI and experience implementing AI solutions across engineering team to accelerate performance
• Experience in news, media, publishing, or similar high traffic consumer-facing environment
• Experience building architecture and overseeing execution across engineering, data, project teams
• Strong communication and ability to influence
  
  

Additional Skills

• Degree in Computer Science or STEM related field
• Previous Director-level leadership within global / larger company
• Experience in media, news, publishing, content-delivery, or similar high-traffic environment
  
  

Compensation: $200,000 - $220,000 base salary (Based on experience), 25% annual bonus. Great benefits, PTO, 401k, W/L Balance.
