Landscape & Facilities Technician
Classification: Non-Exempt
Type of Position: Part-Time
Closing Date: Continuous
Department: Roads and County Facilities
Salary: $15.00 - $18.00 Hourly DOQ
Position Reporting: Facilities Division Manager
Summary
The Landscape and Facilities Technician assist in maintaining the appearance of Talbot County properties by performing routine maintenance and repair.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Mulch, rake, and mow as directed
- Spackle and Paint
- Make small repairs as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year’s building maintenance and landscaping experience.
- Possess a valid Maryland Driver’s License.
- Must be able to work outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions and inclement weather as needed
- Basic maintenance knowledge such as painting, landscaping, and mechanical skills.
- Ability to interact with County personnel and the public in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include early mornings, evenings and weekends for projects that must be done after normal working hours.
- Ability to work without close supervision.
- Ability to work in a safe manner.
- Ability to operate all types of equipment, i.e., leaf blowers, various landscaping equipment.
