What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Assistant Manager - 2nd Shift position at Takumi Stamping Inc?
Accountability Objectives
This is a visible leadership role which requires experience in a high volume manufacturing setting. You will have accountability for roughly 40 shift associates in the Stamping Department and will be working with little or no supervision.
Principal Responsibilities and Authority
1) Drive Safety, Quality, and Productivity through process control, training, and enforcement of work instructions & procedures.
2) Develop daily & weekly manpower requirements based on production needs and schedule personnel accordingly.
3) Explain and teach company policies and targets to all team members.
4) Lead cost reduction efforts through Kaizen while improving efficiency to ensure company profit targets are met.
5) Promote and maintain a clean and safe working environment to ensure operations can be carried out safely and efficiently.
6) Resolve work problems and promote critical thinking and a culture of ownership to create a TPM mindset.
7) Maintains a thorough technical knowledge of all products, including production facilities’ capabilities and limitations, product cost and quality standards.
8) Reviews activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department progress toward stated goals and objectives.
9) Reviews hourly/daily performance results and implements countermeasures to offset deficiencies.
10) Drives action plan implementation/execution necessary to achieve annual goals/Company Policy.
11) Strong leadership skills are a critical requirement for this position. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented with the ability to work both independently as well as part of a team. Excellent critical thinking and communication skills are important in this position.
12) Assist in other duties required by management.
Experience, Education, and Skill Requirements
- Qualified candidates will have 5-10 years’ press/metal stamping experience
- Only individuals who are qualified will be interviewed
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75lbs.
- Ability to stand as needed
- Some bending, lifting, twisting, stooping, and kneeling
Working Conditions
- Exposed to heat at times during the summer months and cold weather during winter months.
- Exposed to some processing oils from material and equipment.
- Exposure to upper noise levels.
Pay: $83,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
