What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Account Executive position at Takt?
Takt builds software that enables some of the world’s largest warehouse, distribution, and logistics organizations to create highly engaged and efficient teams. We empower employees at all levels to improve performance, drive profitability, and grow their careers. In both our products and our people, we aim to reflect, represent, and advocate for warehouse and logistics operators globally.
We’re looking for a Lead Account Executive who thrives in ambiguity, builds their own pipeline, and wins through relationships.
This is an exciting opportunity to sell into a market where demand is being pulled forward by real economic pressure. As labor costs rise and operational complexity increases, companies are actively searching for ways to protect and expand margin through smarter cost-per-unit optimization - especially during periods of growth. In this role, you’ll be at the center of those conversations, helping operators and executives rethink how labor scales with volume.
This role is not for someone who expects marketing-generated leads or pre-qualified accounts. You will be responsible for identifying prospects, opening doors, building credibility in the field, and driving deals from first conversation through close.
If you’re energized by being out with customers, attending industry events, walking facilities, and creating opportunities from scratch - this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Pipeline & Lead Generation (Primary Focus)
- Source pipeline through outbound efforts, networking, referrals, and field activity
- Identify and pursue target accounts across logistics, warehousing, distribution, and related industries
- Build relationships with operators, finance leaders, and executives
- Represent Takt at industry events, dinners, site visits, and regional meetups
- Develop and maintain a strong personal network within your territory and vertical focus
Sales Execution
- Run discovery-led sales cycles focused on operational and financial outcomes
- Translate complex labor challenges into clear business cases and ROI narratives
- Navigate multi-stakeholder deals involving operations, finance, IT, and executive leadership
- Own deals end-to-end: prospecting, qualification, demos, proposals, negotiation, and close
- Partner with internal teams (customer success, product, leadership) to win strategic opportunities
Market & Customer Insight
- Act as the voice of the customer by feeding market insights back to product and leadership
- Develop a deep understanding of the platform, labor models, and workforce economics
- Continuously refine messaging based on real-world conversations and objections
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in SaaS, supply chain, logistics, or enterprise software
- Proven success self-generating pipeline - not just working inbound or assigned accounts
- Strong field presence: comfortable meeting prospects in person and building trust face-to-face
- Experience selling into complex, operationally-driven organizations
- Ability to run a disciplined sales process while operating independently
- Excellent storytelling and consultative selling skills
Strongly Preferred
- Experience selling to 3PLs, warehouses, distributors, or labor-intensive operations
- Familiarity with labor planning, workforce management, or operational analytics
- Track record of closing mid-market to enterprise deals sourced from cold or relationship-based outreach
- Comfort selling value in environments resistant to change
What Success Looks Like
- You consistently create opportunities without waiting for direction
- Your calendar is filled with prospect meeting, many sourced through your own outreach
- You build a strong reputation in your territory as someone who “knows labor”
- You close meaningful deals that expand Takt’s footprint and credibility in the market
Our Commitment to Inclusion

We are an equal opportunity employer and supportive place to work. Takt will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodations to participate in the interview process, perform essential job functions, and receive other benefits of employment.
Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Location
Remote with significant travel (in office quarterly at minimum)
This is a field-oriented role - in-person prospecting and relationship building are core expectations.
