Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision, creativity, and consistency, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards
- Plan menus that cater to diverse dietary needs and preferences, incorporating fresh ingredients and innovative culinary techniques
- Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring efficient workflow and timely service during busy periods
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations, including proper food handling and storage practices
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance on knife skills, cooking methods, and food industry best practices
- Collaborate with dietary department staff to accommodate special dietary restrictions and meal plans
- Assist with catering events and special functions, ensuring quality service from preparation to serving
Experience
- Proven culinary experience in a professional kitchen setting, ideally within fine dining or high-volume food service environments
- Strong background in menu planning, meal preparation, and food presentation techniques
- Extensive knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
- Demonstrated expertise in kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen equipment management
- Experience working within the food industry or restaurant environment is highly desirable
- Skilled in knife techniques, food industry standards, and catering services
- Previous dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus but not mandatory
