Position Summary
The Pharmacy Technician supports the compounding, labeling, and packaging of sterile injectable products in compliance with FDA regulations, cGMP, and USP <797>/<800> standards. This role works under the supervision of licensed pharmacists and production management to ensure the safe and accurate preparation of pharmaceutical products.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and aseptic compounding of sterile injectable medications under cGMP and USP <797>/<800> guidelines.
- Maintain a cleanroom environment, including gowning, sanitization, and environmental monitoring.
- Accurately label, package, and document finished products according to batch records.
- Perform equipment cleaning, calibration, and maintenance as required.
- Participate in visual inspection, lot reconciliation, and inventory management.
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and documentation requirements.
- Support pharmacists and supervisors in process improvement and quality initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, DEA, and internal quality standards at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Active Pharmacy Technician License in the state of Arizona (or eligibility to obtain).
- 1 year of experience in a pharmacy, sterile compounding, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and cGMP documentation practices.
Preferred:
- National PTCB certification (CPhT).
- Experience in sterile injectable manufacturing, hospital cleanroom, or 503B facility.
- Knowledge of USP <797> and <800> compliance requirements.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Full-time, onsite position in controlled cleanroom environments located in Chandler and Deer Valley, Arizona. Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs. Requires the use of appropriate PPE (gown, gloves, mask, goggles) in ISO-classified areas.
