TITLE: LICENSING/DESIGN LIAISON
DETAILS: HYBRID or MINNEAPOLIS, MN
ABOUT TAI APPAREL:
· Apparel manufacturer with US Sales, Design, and Product team based domestically (MLSP/LA) and overseas
· Specialize in knit apparel with new business in woven apparel
· US Production and Sourcing team based in China driving a fast fashion speed to market business model
· Product categories include junior, missy, plus, mens, girls, big boy, toddler, infant and maternity.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
· The main responsibility of the License/Design Liaison is to executes graphic design submissions to licensors for all development and manage all licensed assets/data to support creative & design teams.
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:
· 1-3 years of licensing experience or a combination of e-commerce account management, design, or product development experience in the apparel industry preferred.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT)
· Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator preferred
· A self-motivated, organized, quick and eager learner, driven to innovate and execute with a collaborative attitude.
· Other duties may be assigned in accordance with company needs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist the creative team in revision of artwork based on Licensor/Design feedback.
· Maintains flow of communication with the cross-functional teams to help educate and illuminate any issues with licensor submissions and identify efficiencies within our processes.
· Support in building and revising submission cads to ensure all correct licensor branding, coding, and creative guidelines are included.
o Support across multiple Retailers / Demographics;
o Mass: Target, Walmart
o Mid-Tier/Department: Nordstrom, Belk, Macys
o Specialty: Carter’s
o Off Price: Costco, Sam’s Club, Burlington
- Review meeting decks at a higher level to ensure licenses in deck are contractually allowed for partner. Review for "pending stars" needed. Scan for old/rejected art. Advise if new art is likely to be approved.
· Reviews available SGs to ensure we’re aware of all newness and to curate assets that align with development calendar - shared responsibility amongst cross functional teams.
- Manage all asset organization including style guides/assets, branding requirements, including neck labels, pad prints, hangtags, and trims., etc.
- Attend costing calls or design reviews to discuss properties and review decks.
- Continuously monitor for potential infringement issues and exercise critical thinking when reviewing licensed and generic art.
Cross-Functional Collaborations
· Support workflow improvements, file organization and template management.
· Create colorways, embellishment call outs, and preliminary technical notes for internal alignment.
· Support business through producing and updating templates for design assets and license files.
· Communicate with our license partners to ensure artwork accuracy and execution.
· Assist the creative team with miscellaneous tasks-assets recoloring and editing.
· Help organize, upload, and maintain assets and design files on the server.
