Position: High School Biology Teacher
Reports To: Richard Cameron
Work Year Days: 2026–2027 School Year
Work Hours: Full School Day
Educational/Training/Experience/License Required:
- DESE Massachusetts educator license in Biology(Grades 9–12) required.
- Strong content knowledge in biology, including cell biology, genetics, ecology, and human body systems.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate high school students in scientific inquiry.
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
- Experience with differentiated instruction, lab-based learning, and technology integration, differentiated instruction and technology integration.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging biology instruction aligned with Massachusetts Science and Technology/Engineering Curriculum Frameworks.
- Design and implement laboratory investigations and hands-on learning experiences.
- Develop and administer assessments to monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Integrate instructional technology and data analysis tools to enhance student learning.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues.
- Participate in department meetings, school initiatives, and ongoing professional development.
- Ensure a safe, organized, and compliant laboratory environment.
- Contribute to the school community through extracurricular activities and events as appropriate.
- Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Must successfully pass a CORI background check and fingerprinting as required by Massachusetts law.
