Systems Administrator
The Systems Administrator oversees the administration and support of business systems within Ti Information Systems, while also acquiring a comprehensive understanding of all relevant platforms and systems. Key responsibilities include planning, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and securing the organization's computer systems and servers to ensure their consistent reliability and optimal performance.
The successful team member will be required to apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve system issues, thereby maximizing the benefits of IT system investments.
This position reports to the Regional IT Manager.
Responsibilities:
- System Installation, Configuration, and Administration:
- Install, configure, and administer servers, networking infrastructure, and system software in accordance with organizational standards.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for VMware systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing and designing Group Policy.
- Perform user, computer, and group administration in Active Directory, Office 365, Intune, and other systems as required.
- Server administration, including Windows Server and Azure management.
- Understanding patch management with the ability to deploy patches promptly while understanding business impact.
- Oversee the configuration, administration, and support of the Windows DFS file system across multiple departments.
- Automate routine tasks using scripts and system tools.
- Facilitates the escalation of issues and concerns to vendors for appropriate resolution.
- Monitoring & Maintenance:
- Consistently monitor system performance, resolve technical issues promptly, and ensure stable operation of networks and servers.
- Facilitates the escalation process and ensures timely communication of status updates to management.
- Security Management:
- Conduct data backup procedures and implement disaster recovery operations using Veeam backup.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Implement the security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Ensure system security through firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection
- Documentation & Policy Development:
- Documents problem resolution and task completion in the Helpdesk ticket system.
- Plans and preparations for technical changes or projects.
- Create and maintain documentation of systems, configurations, and manuals.
- Provides input for developing draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Teamwork
- Collaborate with IT teams to support cloud, virtualization, and hybrid environments
- Provides support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems
- Provides support to the network, including day-to-day operation, monitoring, and problem resolution.
- Provide a second level of support to the users with hardware, software, and network issues
Requirements:
- BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience in the related field
- 3 years of experience with Windows Administration
- Knowledge of all aspects of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems (mixed versions)
- Knowledge of Office365, Exchange, and Intune
- Knowledge of Veeam Backup.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks/projects concurrently
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a dynamic team environment
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex system problems
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work alternate schedule, off-hours, nights, and weekends
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
