What You'll Do
As an Engineering Co-Op Student, you'll gain exposure to multiple stages of the product development and manufacturing process while working alongside experienced professionals.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Assist teams with planning, development, testing, and implementation of projects
- Perform hands-on testing and analysis of materials and equipment
- Assist with testing materials for durability, performance, and compatibility
- Help evaluate new equipment and technologies for use with existing materials and processes
- Read and follow test plans and accurately document test results
- Create, edit, and analyze technical specifications and product documentation
- Assist with troubleshooting and identifying issues with materials, equipment, and processes
- Use data and basic statistical analysis to evaluate test results and identify trends
- Assist with process improvement and engineering projects
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality Control, and Operations teams
- Communicate project findings and results to team members and management
- Learn and apply new testing methods, technologies, and engineering techniques
- Take on additional engineering projects and responsibilities as assigned
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related degree program
- Available to complete a minimum 5-month co-op
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to read and follow test plans and technical instructions
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
- Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office
- Professional and effective communication skills
- Strong interest in engineering, materials, manufacturing, and new technologies
- Curious, hardworking, and eager to learn
- Ability to communicate technical information and project results effectively
Previous experience with laboratory testing, materials, manufacturing, engineering projects, CAD, data analysis, or quality control is a plus, but not required.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work on-site in Eatontown, NJ each working day
- Minimal travel may be required
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening
