Job Overview – Paraprofessional (School-Based)

Compensation: $22 – $30/hour (Dependent on Experience)

Location: Bronx, NY

Schedule: Full-Time, Part-Time, or Per Diem

TAG MedStaffing is hiring Paraprofessionals (School-Based) in Bronx, NY for our client, supporting students in K–12 classroom settings with full-time, part-time, and per diem opportunities available. This role focuses on providing one-on-one and small group support to students with academic, behavioral, and developmental needs. You will work closely with teachers and school staff to reinforce instruction, support classroom structure, and support student success throughout the school day.

Responsibilities as the Paraprofessional (School-Based):

• Student Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with academic and behavioral needs.
• Classroom Assistance: Support teachers with instruction, classroom activities, and daily routines.
• Behavioral Support: Assist with behavior management strategies and intervention plans.
• Student Engagement: Encourage participation, focus, and positive social interaction in the classroom.
• Documentation: Track student progress and communicate updates with teachers and school staff.

Qualifications for the Paraprofessional (School-Based):

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification: New York State Paraprofessional certification or eligibility is preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience working with children, students with special needs, or in educational settings is preferred.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with classroom environments, behavioral support strategies, and student engagement techniques is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Ability to follow instructional plans and document student progress using basic tools is required.
• Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates patience, communication skills, reliability, and the ability to support students in a structured school environment.
