What are the responsibilities and job description for the Partner Payroll Accountant position at Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP?
Taft is seeking a Partner Payroll Accountant in Taft’s Indianapolis office.
We are seeking a Partner Payroll Accountant with 3 years’ experience to support our team. All Taft employees operate under a “Client First” philosophy—in all things, we seek to provide exceptional services to our clients.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collect and enter all paperwork and changes on new hires, terminations, transfers, garnishments, direct deposit, 401K, paid time off, rate increases/decreases, and taxes through the ADP payroll software.
- Create and email personal account statements and partner business expense (PBE) statements to partners each semi-monthly pay period for review and determination of partner compensation and deductions.
- Create, on a semi-monthly basis, Microsoft Excel files to compute Senior Counsel and Equity Partner gross to ADP compensation along with accompanying additions/deductions such as Charitable Donations, Tax Basis (or Cross Purchase), PBE, Defined Contribution Plan (DCP), Employer FICA, and personal deductions.
- Generate CSV compensation upload files to use with payroll software ADP.
- Maintain all logs and reconciliations corresponding to Senior Counsel and Equity Partner payroll.
- Process partner/exempt employee compensation through payroll software (ADP) and review for completeness and accuracy.
- Submit completed semi-monthly (exempt) payroll files via payroll software ADP and request funding for total payroll liability through the accounting department.
- Download and store via DeskSite, all payroll and tax reports.
- Download, audit, and post payroll journal entries for non-exempt staff, exempt staff, and partner payroll with help of Payroll Manager.
- Compile internal management reports from payroll system software (ADP).
- Assist Payroll Manager in calculation of Equity Partner Capital and other reports and audits as needed.
- Main contact for written employment verifications.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or one or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to three years of experience with payroll software such as ADP, Paycor, Ultipro, etc. Preferably ADP Time and Attendance and Work Force Now.
- Experience with ADP Time and Attendance and Work Force Now software.
- Basic payroll processing skills
- Technical ability with payroll software and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
- Communication Proficiency and Responsiveness
- Ethical and Confidential Conduct
- Time Management, Organized, and Detail Oriented
- Regular, Punctual, and Predictable attendance
- Ability to work in stressful situations especially when meeting deadlines
