JOB SUMMARY
The position of Silo Supervisor is expected to oversee and participate in the day to day operations of their assigned silo field location. He or she will demonstrate excellent leadership in driving safe work practices, training employees in processes and procedures, maintaining compliance to company, customer and federal regulations, serving as the first point of contact for local customers and running a profitable operation for their location. Their expertise will be put to practice to solve problems and execute business and personal objectives.
The Silos Supervisor is responsible for informing the Operations Manager of issues related to their assigned duties.
DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary by supervisor. DUTIES:
- Ensures employees and overall field location adheres to the Company’s Health and Safety Program.
- Coach, mentor, motivate and lead a multitude of direct employees from various backgrounds in their day to day job duties.
- Manages crew members to meet production deadlines.
- Adhere to production schedules by monitoring work and scheduling employees
- Evaluate production and control labor costs and supply expense.
- Ensure the company meets service standards in accordance with company, customer, and industry expectations.
- Perform interviews, performance reviews, and corrective discipline for employees.
- Properly anticipate future challenges (i.e. upcoming vacations, holidays, equipment PM’s, weather conditions, etc.) in conjunction with workload requirements.
- Ensure all operational documents are completed, accurate and on time to include daily reports, estimates, and QA/QC documents.
- Responsible for ensuring employee timecards are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Be able to operate a computer to perform daily work activities, with an understanding of basic computer software (MS Word, MS Excel) and the ability to grasp new software within reasonable time frames.
- Attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to climb ladders, tolerate confined spaces and heights, bend, stoop, stretch, lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability and willingness to work outside in adverse weather conditions.
- Willingness and ability to wear safety equipment such as, but not limited to, respirators, safety shoes, safety glasses, and hard hats.
- Have vision correctable to 20/20 for inspection activities.
- Availability to work overtime hours.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and ability to be insured.
- Ability and willingness to travel, possibly for extended periods of time, up to 3 weeks. Extended periods of time are subject to change, at the discretion of management and/or production demands.
- Ability to work in a drug and alcohol -free workplace
- Ability to lift, transport, and manipulate heavy equipment and work safely at heights
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam, drive a commercial motor vehicle (trucks towing equipment trailers), and pass a Respirator FIT exam.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position works in conjunction with the COO for direct oversite of the designated location
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
An Bachelor’s Degree from a college or technical school is preferred, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
A minimum 3 years of proven successful industry-related experience is preferred, or a combination of education and experience is required.
