Job Summary

Tactical Care, Inc. is hiring dependable and compassionate Direct Care Staff / Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for our adult residential program in Crosby, Minnesota.

Our Direct Care Staff provide person-centered support designed to promote independence, individual choice, community involvement, and progress toward each person's goals. Staff work as part of a team to provide consistent support while respecting the rights, preferences, privacy, and dignity of the individuals we serve.

Employees in this position will primarily work day and/or evening shifts at our Crosby program but may also work overnight shifts and may be cross-trained at other Tactical Care programs based on staffing needs and employee availability.

Day and evening shifts worked at the Crosby program currently include a program-specific wage differential, bringing the total rate for qualifying shifts to $25.00 per hour.

Previous direct-care experience is helpful, but it is not required. Tactical Care provides training to prepare employees for their assigned responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities are based on the individual needs and support plans of the people we serve and may include:

• Provide person-centered support in accordance with individual support plans and applicable policies and procedures
• Assist individuals with daily routines and activities as identified in their support plans
• Encourage independence, individual choice, self-advocacy, and participation in preferred activities
• Support individuals with community activities, appointments, shopping, and other outings
• Assist with meal preparation and household routines
• Provide medication assistance or administration after completing all required training and authorization
• Support individuals in developing and maintaining independent living and community participation skills
• Recognize and appropriately report changes in an individual's needs, health, or circumstances
• Follow established health, safety, emergency, and incident-response procedures
• Complete required documentation accurately and within required timeframes
• Maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries
• Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and other members of the individual's support team
• Help maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive home environment

Experience in direct care, disability services, mental health services, residential services, caregiving, healthcare, or other human-service settings is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet applicable driving requirements
• Ability to successfully complete required background study requirements
• Ability to complete all required orientation and ongoing training
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with reasonable accommodation when applicable
• Reliable attendance and communication
• Ability to follow written support plans, policies, procedures, and documentation requirements

Schedule

This position is primarily intended to cover day and evening shifts at our Crosby program.

Employees may also be scheduled for overnight shifts based on program needs, employee availability, and staffing requirements.

Tactical Care operates multiple residential programs, and employees may also have the opportunity or be asked to cross-train and work at other Tactical Care locations. Specific schedules, availability, and cross-training expectations will be discussed during the hiring process.

Compensation

Tactical Care uses program-specific wage rates and differentials based on the location and shift being worked.

Crosby Day & Evening Shifts: $25.00/hour

The $25.00 rate includes the current program-specific wage differential for qualifying day and evening hours worked at the Crosby program.

Crosby Overnight Shifts: $18.00/hour

Overnight hours at the Crosby program are not included in the current day/evening program differential and are paid at $18.00 per hour.

Shifts Worked at Other Tactical Care Programs

Employees who are cross-trained or work shifts at another Tactical Care program are paid according to the applicable wage rate for the program and shift being worked. The current starting rate for standard Direct Care Staff shifts at other Tactical Care programs is $20.00 per hour, unless another program-specific rate or differential applies.

Program-specific wage differentials are associated with qualifying shifts worked at the applicable program and do not automatically apply to hours worked at other Tactical Care locations.
