What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Care Staff / Direct Support Professional (DSP) position at Tactical Care Inc?
Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Tactical Care, Inc. | Park Rapids, MN
Make a difference. Build relationships. Do work that actually matters.
Tactical Care, Inc. is hiring dependable, compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our adult residential program in Park Rapids, Minnesota.
This isn't a job where you're expected to simply "watch" someone for a shift. Our DSPs help the people we support live full, meaningful lives in their homes and communities. That might mean helping with everyday routines, making dinner together, getting out into the community, working toward personal goals, or simply being a consistent person they can count on.
What You'll Do
As a Direct Support Professional, you may:
- Support individuals with daily routines and independent living skills
- Assist with cooking, cleaning, shopping, appointments, and community activities
- Encourage independence, choice, and personal goals
- Provide medication assistance as trained
- Help maintain a safe, comfortable home environment
- Complete required documentation
- Follow individual support plans and company policies
- Communicate with coworkers, supervisors, guardians, and other members of the individual's support team
- Build positive, professional relationships with the people we serve
What We're Looking For
We're looking for people who are reliable, patient, professional, and genuinely care about others.
Previous experience in direct care, caregiving, mental health, disability services, group homes, assisted living, healthcare, or human services is helpful — but it isn't required. We'll provide the training you need.
You should be comfortable working independently, making good decisions, communicating with your team, and showing up consistently for the people who depend on you.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to successfully complete required background studies
- Ability to complete required training
- Dependable attendance and communication
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
