Tabor Hills Senior Living Campus, a not-for-profit community located in Naperville, IL, has been dedicated to caring for our senior population for over 130 years. Tabor Hills Senior Living offers an Independent Living Community, Supportive Living Community and a Skilled Nursing Building.

                               We currently have an opening for a Full Time 3rd Shift RN Unit Nurse on our Skilled Nursing Building.

  • COMPETITIVE PAY BASED ON EXPERIENCE $43.00-$45.00 PER HOUR

Job Description:

  1. Participate in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating resident care delivery and actual resident outcome.
  2. Completes initial and ongoing nursing assessments needed to plan care interventions.
  3. Make frequent rounds to ensure care delivery meets quality care standards and restorative protocols.
  4. Utilize appropriate infection control techniques to prevent spread of infection.
  5. Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocols.
  6. Monitor vital signs and hydration status to detect deviations from normal limits.
  7. Perform direct resident care.
  8. Obtain specimens for laboratory exam.
  9. Take, transcribe and implement physician’s orders.
  10. Requisition and arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services, as ordered by resident’s physician, from departments within the institution or from outside the facility.
  11. Order prescribed medications and requisition supplies and equipment from appropriate sources.
  12. Describe resident’s responses to treatments/medications, response or lack of progress towards care plan or restorative goal in nursing notes and monthly summary documentation.
  13. Coordinate and evaluate the supportive interventions nursing provides to other departments or services in providing a holistic approach to resident care.
  14. Provide support to family members in coping, participating or managing residents’ care needs.
  15. Assist physicians during rounds and examinations.
  16. Notify appropriate departments to initiate physician orders.
  17. Participate in discharge planning in coordination with other departments/services.
  18. Coordinate activities between departments and other services.
  19. Monitor performance of nursing personnel against established standards and provide education to improve care delivery.
  20. Assist with orientation, instruction, and supervision of other nursing personnel.
  21. Supervision of Resident nutrition and hydration; assist residents who cannot eat independently.
  22. Participate in the assessment, planning and implementation of nursing staff efforts in providing quality resident care.
  23. Monitor residents’ status or changes in condition and document findings in medical record, and report same to family, immediate supervisor and physician.
  24. Give report to CNA’s working in your assigned area.
  25. Communicate with the Director of Nursing on resident matters.
  26. Observe resident and document significant changes in condition, abnormal lab values, response to treatments/meds, and significant incidents, and notify nursing supervisor, physician and family of change, when indicated.
  27. Attend and participate in scheduled in-service programs and staff meetings.
  28. Perform any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required.

 

Qualifications:
  1. EDUCATION:  Currently licensed as RN in the state of Illinois. 
  2. EXPERIENCE:  At least two (2) years of experience working as an RN in Long Term Care/Senior Living/Geriatrics required.
  3. PHYSICIAN DEMANDS:  Lifting 75 to 100 pounds by self with frequent Lifting and/or carrying of objects.  Exerting considerable force frequently and/or intermediate force constantly to move objects and residents.  Reaching, handling, talking, hearing, and visual near acuity.
  4. TRAVEL:   n/a
  5. WORKING CONDITIONS:   Inside, well lighted, well-ventilated areas with possible exposure to disagreeable conditions.
  6. PRINCIPAL CONTACTS: Nursing staff, residents, department heads and Administration.
  7. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be capable of executing all terms and conditions set forth in the Employee Handbook including, but not limited to:
    1. Works in a safety conscious manner, which ensures that safe work practices are used in order not to pose a risk to self or others in the workplace.
    2. Complies with company policies and procedures and local, state, and federal regulations.
    3. Adheres to policy on Drug Free and Non-Smoking Workplace.
    4. Interacts in a tactful, diplomatic, and humanistic manner with residents, families, visitors, and co-workers to provide a safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective caring environment which ensures self-respect, personal dignity, rights and physical safety of each resident and facility guest.
    5. Maintains a dependable attendance record and adheres to standards of cleanliness, grooming, hygiene, and dress code.
