What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Facilities Worker position at Tabor Academy?
Position Summary
The Facilities Department is seeking motivated seasonal team members to support a variety of campus maintenance and improvement projects during the summer months. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, take pride in maintaining clean and safe environments, and are interested in learning basic facilities operations in a school setting.
This is a seasonal position, typically running from early June through late August.
Responsibilities
- Assist with interior painting projects across campus buildings
- Support exterior sidewalk and minor surface repair work
- Perform landscaping duties including mowing, trimming, weeding, and general grounds upkeep
- Participate in construction debris removal and general site clean-up
- Organize and clean storage areas and facilities spaces
- Provide occasional backup support in Receiving operations as needed
- Assist with basic maintenance and small repair tasks under supervision
- Complete general seasonal tasks to support campus readiness and appearance
Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Ability to perform physical labor outdoors and indoors in varying weather conditions
- Willingness to learn and follow directions
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Prior experience in landscaping, maintenance, or construction is helpful but not required
Schedule
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with up to 40 hours per week.
