Role Description
TABBE is seeking a Fashion Design Intern in New York City. This is an unpaid internship, open to students (for school credit) or non-students looking to build hands-on experience inside an early-stage ready-to-wear brand. The internship runs from the first week of June through the close of NYFW SS27.
As a Fashion Design Intern, you will assist in the creation of designs, preparation of patterns, fabric sourcing and swatching, and assembling prototypes. You will collaborate closely with the founder and design team to translate creative concepts into tangible outputs while gaining hands-on experience in the fashion production process. Additional tasks may include supporting fittings and photoshoot prep, helping with graphic design elements, light fashion styling, and maintaining studio organization. Expect to wear a lot of hats and be in the room for real design decisions in the lead-up to NYFW.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in fashion design and an understanding of textiles
- Basic sewing skills and experience assembling sample prototypes
- Strong sketching and technical skills
- Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; CLO or similar 3D tools a plus
- Knowledge of graphic design and its application in fashion branding
- Interest or experience in fashion styling
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate in a small, fast-moving creative team
- Familiarity with current fashion trends and a passion for innovative design
- Enrollment in or completion of a fashion design or related program is preferred
Location
- New York City. In person at our studio 2-3 days per week, from the first week of June through the close of NYFW SS27.
