What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fire Large Projects Project Manager position at T.R.L. Systems, Incorporated?
The FLP Project Manager is responsible for the setup and review of all installation projects within commercial properties. They will be responsible for developing a comprehensive project plan that guides team members to successfully complete the project within scope and budget. The FLP Project Manager is responsible for the review and management of all costs associated to their projects, completing both project billing and WIP adjustments in a timely manner. They will be responsible for all client correspondence and meetings to provide project status.
Responsibilities include advance project troubleshooting and programming, project contract review, procurement of project materials, budget and cost monitoring, team performance and development.
Essential Functions:
- Develops full-scale project plans that communicate project expectations, deadline and budget. Assigns workplan/tickets accordingly ensuring appropriate resources are assigned.
- Manages the final project inspection prior to inspection with the Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to ensure project is according to code, client contract, and quality expectations.
- Conducts periodic on-site project evaluations to ensure compliance with the defined scope of work as well as TRL standards. Reviews any ‘Out of Scope’ work requests to ensure course of action (T&M, quote, no cost work, etc.)
- Manages project budgets and identifies budget changes throughout the life of the project. Submits change orders, makes WIP adjustments, and submits billing timely to ensure the projects financial health.
- Provides sales support to Account Executives and serves as a system/installation expert to assist with estimates and proposal development. Can be requested to participate in job walks. Assists with the development and growth of business relationships vital to the success of the company and Department.
- Adheres to all TRL Fleet policies and procedures and maintains both the appearance of their assigned vehicle and its inventory. Follows all inventory management procedures.
- Develops the onboarding plan and defines the expectations of new team members and identifies and schedules any training and/or certifications needed for team.
- Writes and administers performance reviews to grow and develop teams. Meets with subordinates to review their performance on a regular basis, defining and explaining management’s expectations clearly to employees.
- Reviews and approves timesheets and expenses for assigned team members and ensures time is entered accordingly and accurately, meeting all identified payroll approval deadlines.
- Participates in the review, interviewing and selection process of candidates for the Department.
- 10 years in construction and/or low voltage in the commercial environment (Fire Life Safety systems)
- 5 years in a leadership/management role
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Valid California Driver License and proof of auto insurance.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Ability to drive for 2 hours in a work shift/day, daily.
- Ability to walk, bend, stoop, hear, and speak, daily.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, under all temperature variations.
- Work environment may be construction sites, commercial buildings, and multi-tenant properties.
- Ascend/Descend and work at heights above 6ft and extreme heights, occasionally
- Move/Transport items weighing 50 pounds, occasionally
