What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Technician position at T.R.L. Systems, Incorporated?
This position is for the Los Angeles area.
The Security Technician is responsible for the onsite installation of life safety and security systems. He/She actively participates in the overall installation of projects as directed by Security leadership and management. The Security Technician is a vital component to the project performing the installation of devices, running wiring, and performing basic construction needs to ensure the successful completion of client projects. He/She is expected to display an understanding of electrical regulations, construction requirements, material and device functions as well as industry standards.
Responsibilities are not limited to but will include demolition, construction rough ins, patching and painting, wire pulling, project prep and clean up.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures that regular and consistent communication takes place with both internal and external customers; acknowledges and addresses requests received via phone, email or company systems daily.
- Manages own time and resources to achieve identified objectives; is diligent in meeting all communicated/defined deadlines. Monitors and updates tickets assigned to them in company CRM.
- Coordinates with the Lead/Foreman of the project to ensure the successful installation of project components.
- Understands how to read and interpret drawings for project installation.
- Performs good housekeeping while on a project site; keeping work area clean and organized.
- Operates and understand the use of all tools and equipment needed for the project.
- Adheres to all workplace safety expectations, regulations, standards and practices.
- Enters accurate time daily to project ticket assigned; providing a real time budget visual to company management.
- Displays an Intermediate understanding of the functionality of the security systems installed.
- Participates in meetings, workshops, trainings and seminars as assigned for the purpose of performing job duties.
- Any additional duties as assigned.
- 2 years construction and installation of security systems (preferred).
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
- Result oriented; ability to achieve the target within given time.
- Ability to read and understand construction documents and project specifications.
- Ability to read, write, hear, speak, and comprehend English.
- Working knowledge of construction/low voltage.
- Customer service driven.
- Security system knowledge.
- Ability to operate trade tools such as meters, hand tools and power tools.
- Valid California driver license
- Proof of valid car insurance
- Must be able to work weekends, nights, split shift, and rotating shifts (if needed)
- Punctuality and regular attendance (required)
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Ability to drive for 2 hours in a work shift/day, daily.
- Ability to drive, walk, bend, stoop, hear, and speak, daily.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, under all temperature variations.
- Work environment may be construction sites, commercial buildings, and high-rise buildings.
- Ascend/Descend and work at heights above 6ft and extreme heights, occasionally
- Move/Transport/Install/Remove items weighing 50 pounds, daily
- Pushing/Pulling using upper extremities, daily
- Position self to work in confined spaces, occasionally
