What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fire Large Projects Lead Technician position at T.R.L. Systems, Incorporated?
The FLP Lead Technician is responsible for the onsite installation of fire life safety systems within commercial properties. This role actively leads a crew in the overall installation of projects as directed by FLP leadership and management. The FLP Lead Technician is a vital component of the project, performing the installation of devices, running wiring, and completing general construction tasks to ensure the successful completion of client projects. The role requires an understanding of electrical functions and operations, along with the ability to enforce electrical regulations, construction requirements, and industry standards for the project.
Responsibilities include wire pulling, project preparation and clean up, troubleshooting, project documentation, customer communications, and training of technicians.
Essential Functions:
- Serves as the primary contact for the customer while on site and communicates daily with the Foreman and/or Project Manager regarding job status.
- Responsible for all project documentation and enters a daily summary into the company CRM regarding the status of the project installation. Provides all final project documents in a timely manner for project closeouts.

Leads the onsite crew to ensure the successful installation of project components.
Interprets drawings and identifies best methods for project installation. - Ensures all project materials and equipment are prepped and ready to be used during the project installation.
- Adheres to all workplace safety expectations, regulations, standards, and practices.
- Enters accurate time daily to tickets assigned and/or timesheet, providing a real-time budget view to company management.
- Adheres to all TRL Fleet policies and procedures and maintains both the appearance of the assigned vehicle and its inventory. Follows all inventory management procedures.
- Provides system troubleshooting and makes timely corrective actions to keep the project moving forward.
- Maintains punctuality and regular attendance.
- 3 years in construction and/or low voltage installation
- 3 years installing security equipment in a commercial environment
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Valid California Driver License and proof of auto insurance.
- Must be able to work weekends, nights, split shifts, and rotating shifts (if needed).
