Position Summary: The Human Resources Recruiter is responsible for executing full-cycle recruiting while supporting broader HR functions across assigned regions. This role serves as a key partner to operations and leadership by driving talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, and HR compliance initiatives.
This position blends strategic recruiting with hands-on HR support, ensuring the organization attracts, develops, and retains a high-performing workforce aligned with HOST’s core principles.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Talent Acquisition & Recruiting
- Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts across exempt and non-exempt roles
- Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and workforce plans
- Source candidates using traditional and nontraditional methods (career fairs, community events, online platforms, networking)
- Screen resumes, conduct interviews, and evaluate candidates for fit and capability
- Coordinate background checks, assessments, and reference checks
- Extend offers and manage pre-employment processes
- Maintain strong candidate pipelines for current and future hiring needs
- Manage internal transfer and promotion processes
Onboarding & Employee Experience
- Conduct new hire orientation and ensure a seamless onboarding experience
- Partner with operations to ensure readiness for new hires (scheduling, communication, documentation)
- Support employee engagement initiatives and retention efforts
HR Operations
- Administer HR policies, procedures, and programs
- Support performance management processes and coaching initiatives
- Provide employee relations support, including conflict resolution and investigations
- Conduct exit interviews and provide insights to leadership
- Assist with benefits administration and employee communications
- Maintain HRIS data integrity (ADP Workforce Now preferred) and generate reports
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with leadership to improve hiring efficiency and workforce planning
- Coordinate with marketing on recruiting campaigns and branding initiatives
- Participate in HR projects, workforce planning, and departmental initiatives
- Travel between Louisiana terminals (~30%) to support operations
Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 2 years of HR and/or recruiting experience (full-cycle recruiting strongly preferred)
- Experience with HRIS and ATS systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, operations-driven environment
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
- High attention to detail and sound judgment when handling sensitive information
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
Physical Requirements:

- Occasional work in an industrial/terminal environment
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
