Role Description The Press Brake Setup-Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Addison, IL, responsible for setting up and operating press brake machinery to form metal components according to specifications. Day-to-day tasks include reading blueprints and work orders, selecting and installing appropriate tooling, adjusting machine settings, and performing test runs to ensure accurate bends and dimensions. The role involves inspecting parts for quality, making necessary adjustments, and documenting production results. The operator will maintain a clean and safe work area, perform routine machine checks, and report any issues or malfunctions promptly. Collaboration with supervisors, engineering, and quality teams is required to meet production schedules and maintain consistent product standards.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Machine Operation skills, including setup (AMADA), safe operation, and basic maintenance of press brakes or similar equipment.
- Candidates should possess Quality Control skills, including measurement verification, visual inspection, and adherence to manufacturing tolerances and standards.
- Candidates should possess Troubleshooting abilities to identify, diagnose, and correct machine, tooling, or process issues that affect part quality or productivity.
- Candidates should possess Printing and Pre-press skills where applicable, such as interpreting printed layouts, production drawings, and job tickets used in fabrication processes.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in metal fabrication, ability to read and interpret technical drawings, familiarity with calipers and other precision measuring tools, and adherence to safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, effective communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Prior press brake or related fabrication experience preferred; vocational training or coursework in manufacturing or industrial technology is a plus.
