What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at T&C Surf?
Position Overview:
This position assists the assistant controller with general accounting operations. Carries out responsibilities for all accounting areas including maintaining the general ledger, financial reporting, reconciling account balances and bank statements and ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in company’s accounting reporting.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepares journal entries and reconciles balance sheet accounts.
- Reconciles general ledger accounts and bank statements.
- Works with various systems including Accounting, Point of Sale and Inventory Systems and various Excel and data base worksheets.
- Participates in updating policies and procedures related to finance and accounting activities.
- Participates in the annual physical inventory and reconciliation to POS system and general ledger.
- Prepares reports for external auditors.
- Assists with Federal and Hawaii tax reports and responsible for timely payments and reconciliations.
- Continuously documents processes and procedures and recommends improvements for all assigned duties.
- Maintains professionalism in his/her actions and appearance.
- Communicates effectively with all employees of the company and provides assistance as necessary.
- Remains flexible to assist company as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
