Position Title
Payroll & Accounting Associate
Position Purpose
T. Baker Smith (TBS) is pursuing an enthusiastic and motivated Payroll & Accounting Associate. This position supports the accounting team by performing a variety of tasks in both financial and project accounting as well as other administrative job functions. This position ensures all tasks are completed accurately and timely in accordance with TBS and government guidelines.
Essential Functions
Enter field time and units accurately and timely into accounting system.
Document water time.
Manage firm deposits and perform other routine banking duties.
Assist in accounting and payroll functions.
Assist with the preparation of reports.
Distribute and record per diem as per policy.
Data entry of TBS invoices into client portals.
Responsible for managing the reception area, which includes answering phones, greeting visitors, and ordering office supplies, along with other general office duties.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to operate, handle, maneuver and/or manipulate objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; use manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard, calculator, and telephone; talk and hear; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or its equivalent, plus five or more years of related experience, OR equivalent combination of education and training required.
Possess strong computer skills, including ability to work with spreadsheets and accounting software, ability to operate calculator, and excellent interpersonal communication skills, attention to detail, and accuracy also required.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is generally in a typical office environment. May be required to sit and work at a computer for long periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Hours of Work
This is a full-time, non-exempt position, requiring 40 hours per week. Nights and weekend commitments to the organization, its associates and clients could be required.
