We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for maintaining the physical condition of our residential and commercial properties, ensuring safe, functional, and attractive living/working environments for our tenants. You will play a key role in minimizing downtime, reducing repair costs, and delivering excellent service to residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on apartment homes, townhomes, or commercial units including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, and painting.
- Respond promptly to tenant maintenance requests and emergency calls (including after-hours on-call rotation as scheduled).
- Conduct regular property inspections (move-in/move-out, preventative maintenance, and safety checks).
- Troubleshoot and repair issues with HVAC systems, water heaters, toilets, sinks, faucets, lighting, doors, windows, and locks.
- Perform basic landscaping and grounds maintenance as needed (snow removal, leaf removal, pressure washing, etc.).
- Complete work orders efficiently while maintaining accurate records in the property management software.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
- Assist with turnover preparations between tenants (painting, cleaning, minor renovations).
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and tools; recommend purchases when needed.
- Work collaboratively with the property management team to uphold high standards of property appearance and resident satisfaction.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 2 years of hands-on experience in general maintenance, preferably in multifamily property management or apartment communities.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repair.
- EPA 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) preferred for HVAC work.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong customer service orientation – ability to interact professionally with residents and team members.
- Basic computer skills (email, work order systems, mobile apps).
- Availability for on-call rotation and occasional weekends/evenings.
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
