Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy trucks, including diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, alignment, and shock & strut replacements to maximize equipment lifespan.
- Fabricate and modify parts or components using welding and hand tools to meet specific operational needs.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assist with vehicle assembly, equipment repair, and preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime.
Experience
- Proven experience or extensive background working with heavy equipment mechanics is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with heavy truck repair, paving machinery, and automotive diagnostics.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including transmissions, air brakes, suspension systems, HVAC components, and diesel engines.
- Skilled in using power tools, hand tools, soldering equipment, and performing heavy lifting safely.
- Experience operating heavy machinery is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients.
